Data requests |
The RCGP RSC is a rich source of data for researchers, and has the flexibility to be used for a wide variety of studies (cohort; case-control; cross-sectional etc.) including recruiting general practices into research .
Any researchers interested in making use of this data, can complete a data request form, available at https://www.rcgp.org.uk/rsc and send to Ivelina Yonova (ivelina.yonova@phc.ox.ac.uk) together with the supporting documentation as described on the data request form's guidance.
These requests are evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Ethical approval by the NHS Research Ethics Committee may needed for data requests to be considered.
Aggregated data outputs based on the requirements as described on the data request will be prepared by the data team at the University of Oxford. Researchers wishing to directly analyse the patient-level pseudonymised data will be required to obtain the relevant approvals and complete the compulsory Information Governance training. Upon securing the relevant approvals, researchers would only be able to access the data from the secure network. The RSC will soon be dual-sited based at the University of Oxford with a mirror site at the University of Surrey. We encourage interested researchers to attend the short courses on how to analyse primary-care data. |
